Catalog Mode is site-wide
Turning on Catalog Mode puts the storefront into browse-only: prices hidden, add-to-cart disabled, or the buy box removed outright — each is a separate choice.
There is no way to apply this to one product; it is the whole store or none of it. What is set per product is the product page's arrangement, which is a different concern and never hides a price on its own.
Direct Payment leaves the order pending
Enabling Direct Payment lets a buyer pay by bank transfer instead of a gateway and submit a tracking code and/or a receipt. Either can be made compulsory.
An order placed that way has no effect until you confirm it — no stock is drawn down and no access is granted.
Changing the number pattern does not change the past
The order-number pattern and its reset period (yearly, monthly, never) apply only to future orders. Numbers already issued are left alone.
"Start at" is for continuing a sequence from another system.
Review anti-spam is configured here
The link limit and the blocked-word list are defined here and used by the Reviews page. A review that trips them is not refused; it is quietly marked as spam and held in the queue.
Order SMS costs money
SMS order notifications are off by default, because each message has a real cost — unlike the confirmation email, which always sends.
Turning it on is not enough on its own: the site's SMS provider must support free-text sending, and the order itself must carry a phone number.
Guest checkout
Turning off buying without an account forces the buyer to register before checkout. It has no effect on orders already placed.
